Alessio Fuoco is a Senior Researcher at the Institute on Membrane Technology (ITM) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). He has extensive expertise in scientific research, innovation, and technology development, with a particular focus on membrane-based processes for gas and vapour separation, management, and valorisation.
He graduated in Materials Science from the University of Calabria in 2010 and earned his PhD in Membrane Engineering in 2015 through the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Doctorate in Membrane Engineering (EUDIME) program, jointly awarded by the University of Toulouse III-Paul Sabatier (France), the University of Calabria (Italy), and the University of Twente (The Netherlands). His professional experience spans both academia and industry.
He worked at Procter & Gamble (P&G), served as an external consultant for the Consortium for Technology Transfer (C2T), and has been a member of the Scientific Board of CityOasis Ltd. Following several years as a postdoctoral researcher at CNR-ITM, he was appointed Researcher in 2020 and promoted to Senior Researcher in 2023. Alessio has coordinated major national and international research initiatives, including the EIC Pathfinder project “DAM4CO2” and the national projects “doMino” and “MeNaCe@CO2.” He also serves as the principal scientific contact for several industrial collaborations.
In addition to his research and project management activities, he is actively involved in the scientific publishing community, serving on the Editorial Boards of several international journals, including Separation and Purification Technology.
