Canan Acar is Associate Professor at the University of Twente (Netherlands), where she leads the Sustainable Energy Transition & Hydrogen (SETH) research line within the Faculty of Engineering Technology. Her work focuses on thermodynamic modeling and optimization of hydrogen in integrated energy systems, and techno-economic assessment of sustainable energy pathways. She has published 50+ peer-reviewed journal articles and 30+ book chapters, and holds the Governor General’s Gold Medal for Academic Excellence (Canada, 2017) and the Outstanding Young Scientist Award from the Turkish Academy of Sciences (2018). She is an active contributor to European hydrogen policy and professional networks.
